Executive and consulting experience in business planning, product planning, management development, engineering, quality assurance, production, marketing, MIS; University trustee and corporate board member.

 

Industry experience with Honeywell and General Electric includes positions as Director of Business Planning, Director of Quality Assurance, Director of Information Resource Management, Development Programs Manager, Product Planning Manager and Design Engineering Manager.

 

Since 1984, John has provided management counsel to individuals and organizations in the areas of strategic planning, product planning, organizational diagnosis, management development and strategies for leveraging business value through technology.  His clients include Fortune 500, public sector and small, high-growth companies.  Much of his work involves the development of linkages between general management and line organizations implementing high technology systems and services.  He leads seminars for the American Management Association and Loftin/Blair Seminars.  He was the editor of  "Developing the World Class Information Systems Organization" series, published by QED Information Sciences in 1988-1990.  In 1994 John, with Ralph Loftin, published "Boxes and Lines" a book describing a method for performing business process redesign developed in the course of their consulting practice.

 

In 1999 John joined Integrated Information Systems, an IT professional services firm, as Chief Operating Officer and served in that role for two years.  IIS grew fourfold in this period, created an international presence and raised nearly $100,000,000 through an IPO and related financing in early 2000.  In 2001 John returned to free lance consulting.

 

A Purdue engineer, John has done graduate work at Syracuse University, Florida Institute of Technology and Arizona State University in both Engineering and Business Administration.  He completed his MAOM degree in 2001 from the University of Phoenix.

 

John helped develop an MBA option in Information Systems at Western International University in the early 1980's, and  served on the board of that University until 2000.  In 2000 he was appointed to the board of The Apollo Group (parent of the University of Phoenix and Western International University).  In 2001 he was appointed to the board of Integrated Information Systems.  He is active in several volunteer organizations working to improve the economic, social and cultural vitality of central Arizona.
